About
Marco Island
Located at the edge of the Gulf of
Mexico, Marco Island is the largest
of the famous Ten Thousand Islands (measuring
14 square miles). Noted for its
intriguing crescent-shaped beach of
pristine white sand, Marco Island
is a boater's paradise! The
azure waters of the Gulf invite boaters
to spend endless hours in the sun, whether
to fish or just relax! Homes and condominiums
dot the waterways of the island, many
of which are located on canals, providing
easy water access. Marco Island
has retained much of the natural beauty
of its beginning when the Calusa Indians
inhabited the island over 5,000 years
ago. Lush tropical foliage and over
200  species
of birds, including the American Bald
Eagle are found here. In addition
to boating and fishing, shelling,
snorkeling, windsurfing, and parasailing,
residents take time out for dining,
shopping, and the arts as well.
There is no shortage of boutiques,
galleries, outdoor cafes and specialty
restaurants on the island. The
freshest of seafood is a natural of
course!
